Mattress Cleaning Professionals

Mattress cleaning - mattress cleaning/Cleaning urine from a mattress.

We all spring clean, some people more than others but we all have to vacuum the carpets and dust around the house from time to time and we have to clean the bathroom and kitchen because they get dirty with use and even if we don’t use them! But what about mattress cleaning, how often do we do that and why should we do it.

Most people only think about it if there’s been an accident like a child wetting the bed and then on the internet they go and type in cleaning urine from a mattress. Well that shouldn’t be the only reason we should think about it.

Of all the items and things we use in our home, the mattress is probably used more than any other item and just because we put a bed sheet on or a protector it doesn’t mean that your beds not getting dirty. On average we spend a third of our lives in bed, what a waste of a life when you think about it but is it any wonder why it’s so important, that’s nearly 3000 hours every year! Not only that your mattress will be teaming with millions of dust mites and their potentially harmful allergens too.

Like anything there’s a right way and a wrong way to go about mattress cleaning. The problem is that normal methods we’d use on carpets and sofas can’t be used on our humble bed. Normally we’d get a company in or hire a machine and use either a hot water extraction process or steam, together with a bunch of chemicals.

These methods would leave a mattress damp, damp for ages, much too long in fact, it may take anywhere between a few hours to a whole day to dry out inside, much too long and irreversible damage could result. Secondly you really don’t want to be using all sorts of chemical on your bed either, so realistically trying to remove sweat stains and other marks is not recommended.

So what about cleaning urine from a mattress? Well, that’s not easy either but there are firms that specialise in helping with just this.

Mattress cleaning should only be done using a dry process or one where there is not massive water penetration or dampness left inside. Ideally you want to make it hygienically clean, especially if you are cleaning urine from a mattress and also you want to remove all the dust and allergens from inside it too.

You could try this yourself but the effectiveness of household vacuums are going to be limited. You’ll find there are companies that will clean your mattress at your home using specialist equipment that’s much more powerful then your own and that have germ killing units on them too, able to extract all the dust and allergens that have built up over the months and years while killing germs without the use of chemicals either.

So next time you change your bedding, have a think about the fact that you may be sleeping on the dirtiest item in your home!
